Viewer Render is a tool can render anything show in viewer, even with UI, like playblast in maya but in nuke. Support 2D and 3D, anything visible in viewer. It's good to show witness camera, making tutorial video, show the problem in visual and bring up for discussion.

If you ran into any problems during render, please make sure display card driver up to date.

whats the benefit, comparing to nuke`s built in viewer capture function?

It's probably Capturing UI, I guess, and a more straight forward use.
