You can use images, 3D Objects, renders with Deep and AOV in a second!

v1.3

+ Compatible with Nuke 13

v1.1

+ Place the folder wherever you prefer, not just in the .nuke folder

+ Added new items

Working every day with 3D space in Nuke and I had troubles with Cube and its UVs.

Why Nuke has only the Cube object with this kind of UVs?! So I decided to create a collection with some basic 3D Objects and Tools.

Nothing complex, but this collection is really handy: you don't have to insert any path or modify anything else.

Since the complete package was too big for Nukepedia, this is just a Lite version. Download the complete pack from my website for free (of course)

DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE PACKAGE: http://www.andreageremia.it/download/tutorial/3d_object/3D_Object.zip

Find here a complete guide: http://www.andreageremia.it/tutorial_3dobject.html

HOW TO INSTALL IT?

It's really easy to install the package, because all the paths and folders are already created.

1. Extract the folder from the file .zip
2. Drag and drop the folder in your .nuke folder or, from the version 1.1, wherever you prefer
#in your .nuke folder, path would be something like this:

#Linux: /home/login name/.nuke
#Mac OS X: /Users/login name/.nuke
#Windows: drive letter:\Users\user name\.nuke

3. Add this code to your file init.py and modify the path. Don't delete the letter 'r' before the path

nuke.pluginAddPath(r'/Users/yourPath/.nuke/3D_Object')

4. Run Nuke

In this collection you can find 7 sub-categories:

01. BASIC GEOMETRY

Basic contains basic models in low and high resolution with relative UV. Cube, Cylinder, Cone, Pype, Torus, and Pyramid with 3-4-5 sides

02. TEST GEOMETRY

You can use the Test Geometries directly in your script like any other Geometry in Nuke.

03. TEST DEEP

You can find a test scene of Deep Compositing. I've just integrated the scene in my collection, but you can find it at this link: https://youtu.be/uHW3VfRo31c. Thanks Mayika VFX

04. TEST AOVs

A complete render with background, CG ground and CG object. All the renders have the passes and deepEXR.

This looks very cool and is an awesome addition to basic nuke 3D

anyway, I would suggest using something like
[python {Object3D_path} ]/TestGeometry/ buddha.obj (e.g.)
in the ReadGeo's file knob, so you don't force people to put it in the .nuke folder
