fxT_rotoPaintMatte v1.0


fxT_rotoPaintMatte is a tool to convert RotoPaint nodes to mattes(creates a duplicate of selected nodes and changes the source to color or bg1)
The tool was created to make the creation of DI-mattes or other type of mattes easier if the comp included RotoPaint nodes that needed to be part of the matte. 

Brush for example creates a clean alpha matte, but clone is not as the default source is fg. If a comp is full of RotoPaint nodes and you need to manually go through the nodes to change the cource to be color to generate the matte, this can be a very timeconsuming task, and if you miss one, the matte will be incorrect Therefore I made this process automated with the use of python to loop through the selected nodes, duplicate them and change the source-type. (see image below for visual an explination). The new node will get an labelText to tell the user which node it originated from.

The tool will check if anything is selected, and if the selection includes more nodes than just RotoPaint-nodes, and let the user know
(see image below for for displayed messages).

Tool was developed on Nuke10, but as it's based on python it should work on all versions where the RotoPaint-node is the same as in Nuke10.

 

 

This shows  duplicated nodes,  notice how the new duplicates will get a label-text with the name of the original node:
