Here is acustom disk cache I use in production, It helps in breaking a large script into smaller process node. The BrCache node enhances the workflow and speeds up the rendering process instead of all nodes.
This node store images in EXR format RGBA in Nuke's file folder or in Nuke_Temp folder and autoread files from disk.
