About

LUE is a grading gizmo that allows you to do collorcorrection in color and luminance seperately. It also does numeric compensation for luminance loss. It also allow you to change the grading colorspace, which will change the ranges that the Lift Gamma and Gain cover.

Due to the limited Nuke Studio gizmo featureset, the Nuke Studio version of LUE only contains a single color panel and some basic color controls such as Blackpoint, Whitepoint, Offset and Saturation.

You can see more about the full LUE for Nuke at http://hagbarth.net/?p=959

Installation:

Copy the content of the 'LUE for Nuke Studio' folder into your '.Nuke' folder

ie: /.nuke/LUE GRADE.gizmo

Thanks for sharing this! Pretty neat and useful. I was not previously aware it was even possible to embed a pyside widget as a knob in a gizmo!

I wonder if it would be possible to add modifier key switches to change functionality - like Ctr+Shift to change luminance, Shift to adjust saturation, Alt+Shift to adjust color temperature?

Its quite easy to do that, i already have a hotkey for the ALT+Mouse drag.

Hi Mads,

This looks really great. I'm just having trouble getting it to run in Studio. I've tried copying the python code into my init.py but then Studio wont run. Works fine in regular nuke if I just copy the gizmo over. Any tips ?

thanks

Phill

You should not copy anything into your init.py
Copy the files from the zip into your .nuke folder so that it looks like this:

.nuke\LUE GRADE.gizmo
.nuke\LUE\lue.png
.nuke\Python\Startup\init.py

Such an awesome and needed addition. Thanks Mads!.
Everything works fine except when I go and export. I get the following error:
LUE: Uknown command

Thoughts?

I'm on Linux Nuke9.7/8

Seems like Nuke Studio can be picky about having spaces in filenames. I have uploaded a new version of the tool that should fix the error. (LUE Grading for Nuke Studio v1.1)

@Mads Hagbarth Damsbo

This is a really cool tool and definietly much needed for Nukestudio, but has this been updated to work on Nuke12.2v2??? The most recent version I can get this working on is Nuke10.5v8.
