A defocus fully controllable by maps, powered by BlinkScript
Requirements:

This Gizmo is meant to extend the standard defocus node, by adding lot of customisation with maps.

london node

It's not meant to be a physically accurate bokeh simulation, but a fast approximation! (less than 2s on an old GPU for this test)

Under the hood its just one blinkscript who make the magic, the rest of the gizmo is for generate/visualize the defaults maps!

So, you can look into it, for more fine tuning.

(There is a 140 pixels limitation on the filter for the beta)

Interface:

Examples:

Known issues:

  • Artefact may occure with too high values on Chroma Offset
  • Slight color shift on the filter with Chroma Offset
  • Not perfect behavior with little value on Size
  • The Lens conserve the light energy (Maybe a features )

This looks great. But why encrypting the blink script code? Are you planning on commercializing it?

Hi Laurent!
Maybe, if someone wants to buy it :-) AL_Defocus is far from finished, I share it to give me the motivation/reso urces to continue the development.
I have plenty of ideas I would like to implement, C++ plugin, slicing, deep, preset, multiple bokeh shape, colored filter and more.
Tell me if you have any ideas you think I should add.
Thanks for your interest!

Love this thing!

I'm in the middle of a project where these swirly petzval bokehs have been the main ref and what you have done so far has already helped us alot!

If possible I'd very much like to buy access to higher filter sizes!

Hey Saka!
Glad you find my tool useful!
Contact me if you want the full version or help to match some difficult bokeh, I can even do a custom version!
Thanks!

Thank you that would be amazing! I've contacted you on Linked In. Is there where you meant? If not my email is if that's easier :)

Can't thank you enough!

I'm using Nuke 9.08 and everytime I try to use this it states lots of missing knobs and then crashes

Overall really promising work.
Sadly this seems to me as if it only works with a focus map? Which is a pain.
I would much rather use a depth map and set my focus within Nuke (like ZDefocus). Also I can't seem to figure out a way of easily turning my depth map into a focus map within nuke.
