With this gizmo you can extract each channels(Red,Green,Blue) or combinations and can be used as a mask input for any other nodes.It also has a mask channel. When using combinations you will find separations between the edges but that will not be seen in the alpha channel, so it wont be of much of a problem. Hope this tool will be useful...
