convert any image to a CRT-like RGB matrix like on old Monitors, TVs and Arcade machines
10.0 or later

'lp_' is not really the name inside of Nuke, it's more for organizing on a server/computer harddrive

This Gizmo transforms any input to a lower resolution and then multiplies it with an array of an RGB 'diodes'. You can choose between absolute scaling (e.g. to match a specific resolution) or relative scaling (e.g. to adjust to personal taste). The output will three (or four) times this internal resolution to properly represent each pixel by its RGB components, just like a CRT monitor would.

This tool generates no weird edge bleeding when muliplied 'pixels' are larger than they should be; each pixel of your desired working resolution gets represented by a 3x3 (or 4x4) RGB array.

I made this tool when I worked with a PacMan-like arcade machine that needed a different insert. Because this tool generates the RGB array in a natural CRT grid, once you transform it e.g. by a CornerPin you might get realtistic Moiré for free :)
