Sometimes we write callbacks that have to do a lot of work and for that reason take some time to evaluate.
To prevent this from happening everytime you select a node or move it and to avoid writing fiter statements in your code all over the place you can use this nifty decorator on top of your callback definition.
#Usage:
import time # Only for this example
from before_knob_changed_decorator import ss_before_knob_changed
# Sluggish moronic callback
@ss_before_knob_changed # Try it with and without the decorator to see the difference
def my_callback():
time.sleep(0.2)
# Get node to apply callback to
node = nuke.selectedNode()
# Apply custom callback.
node.knob('knobChanged').setValue('my_callback()')
