You know you can already change the name of the node by just selecting it and pressing the "n" key

This is for setting the node Label without having to open the node panel and dig for the label field to edit it, so it doesn't have anything to do with the node name. And yes, I am aware about the "n" shortcut to rename a node. Thanks!

Oooh I see, I miss understood what you meant by "label", my bad. Cool script then :-)

Thanks! This is super simple and useful, it saves a lot of time.

I changed the panel type that pops up to be a single-line input, so that you can just hit 'n' to set the label, and then hit 'Enter' to accept your changes. The downside is you can't as easily do multiple lines, you have to use '
' instead.

If anyone else wants this modification, it is available here: http://pastebin.com/sb3VLDYX

I really like this feature, but can't seem to figure out how to install it. Do I copy/paste it into my menu.py, or just use the import command?

Thanks for the script, I got it working. Is there a way to make the entire Label box pop up? This is good, but I'd really like to be able to change the Size, and Bold parameters. Also, it'd be great if there was an easy way to close the box. It'd be great to Tab over to it, but right now, Tab just makes more um.... Tabs, and you have to manually close the box.
