PN_Matte

Pick points in viewer and extract a 3D matte based on its position data or normal direction.

You can pick points while viewing the beauty pass and PN_Matte extracts a 3D matte based on its position data, normal direction or the combination of both. The overlay function visualizes the matte over RGB for fine-tuning. There are 3 possible outputs:

Position matte allows spherical as well as cubical matte shapes. You can adjust rotation, xyz-radius and a smooth edge fall-off (unsymmetrical for cubical mattes).

Normal matte has a threshold for the picked direction and a fall-off.

The combination pn matte extracts geometry pointing in an arbitrary direction on an arbitrary position.

Installation: Copy all files to your ~/.nuke directory. If there already exists an init.py or menu.py copy the written lines to it.
