A simple additive/multiplicative keyer for hair (and other fine detail)

'lp_' is not really the name inside of Nuke, it's more for organizing on a server/computer harddrive

This additive Keyer is meant for hair and other fine detail. For it to work, you need to hook up your shot as well as a cleanplate (generate your own with a coloursmear or use IBKcolor if you have none). You can apply it to a background directly, too.

The tool is designed to be simple and straight forward, so the controls should be self-explanatory; basically you choose the hair-style (bright or dark) and a screencolour, adjust the result with the given options as needed. A despill for the plates is already build in, but can be deactivated if the inputs are despilled already.

While this tool also works with dark hair (making it a multiplicative rather than an additive keyer), getting a matte ready (maybe using a constant for the colour) should be a preferred route :)

 

The tool works best with even greenscreens, as it will transfer any detail; including grain, noise and wrinkles. You can get great results especially with blonde hair; it's nearly effortless and gives decent results, check the (horribly keyed) examples below.

This tool is a Group, not a Gizmo; edit if needed. I didn't checked the older Nuke Versions, but I don't see why it shouldn't work in v6 or v7 at all.
