OverScan Node for Nuke

This gizmo has two main modes: adding and removing over scan.

Adding Over Scan:

  • Make sure Remove Over Scan is not activated.

  • Reset the OS box to match your working format.

  • Adjust and add the over scan you need.

  • Activate Box2Format to convert the plate to the new over scan format.

  • Enable Rezx2 if you need to work at double resolution for DMP.

  • Render your plate.

Removing Over Scan:

  • Bring the DMP with the over scan format

  • Duplicate the node where the over scan was applied so it keeps the data for removing it.

  • Activate Remove Over Scan to revert the plate.

  • Divide the resolution if it was doubled.

  • Select your working format.

  • The plate is converted back into bounding box format, ready for projection.

Hope it's useful, it's really a basic tool. I did have some tools like this in the studios I have worked as a matte painter, but there is no native node that does all that quickly inside Nuke, so I thought about making one myself.
