Three different algorithms for extending a stmap beyond the format. Linear, Quadratic and most often the best; Least Squares Regression.
It samples the stmap from the edge towards the center of frame to approximate the extended distorsion.
Also an option for branching out the samples like a fan that sometimes can help. The gizmo defaults to removing repeated values in the edges so we extend from the correct edge of the stmap.
