Despillo is a very flexible despill combining common despill concepts in one algorithm expression and one clear set of controls including options for restoring luminance per channel and the luminance math used.
First created in 2018 and used extensively since. Released now as v2 in 2026.
Channel layer option
Typical rgb knob to set despill colour.
Keylight style bias control to adjust colour before despill is applied.
Balance control to adjust weighting of secondary channels in the despill operation. Adjusting this will provide matching results to common despill algorithms (e.g. DespillMadness) but with more flexibility in slider format. It behaves in the same way as the keylight screen balance control.
Limit allows you to adjust the colour range affected by the despill helping to deal with spill colour that often remains at the inner edge.
Strength multiplier of the despill effect.
Luminance restore per channel and choice of luminance math used. This can also be used as a way to control the resulting colour of the screen area after despill to be more sympathetic to your background.
