PhysX Despill is a despill node that uses your cleanplate to allow for per pixel despill, and allows to choose between three different despill methods : background despill, solid color despill and classic despill.
- Background despill : Replaces the greenscreen by your chosen background.
- Solid color despill : Replaces the greenscreen with a chosen solid color.
- Classic despill : Performs a classic if green > (red + blue) / 2 then replace green with (red + blue) / 2
The way it works is that using your matte and your cleanplate, it premults your subject with an IBKGizmo, then merges the premulted image onto the chosen background, while making sure not to change the luma values of the plate. This allows to despill per pixel and not just with a solid color and preserves the original edges of your subject.
