JB_MONITOR is a customizable medical monitor generator for Foundry Nuke, created for VFX compositing and screen replacement workflows.
The gizmo generates four independently adjustable medical monitor signals — ECG / Heart Rate, SpO₂, Blood Pressure and EtCO₂ — together with their corresponding numerical values.
A single Monitor State control lets you transition between several waveform conditions, while an animated sweep automatically clears the previous waveform and reveals the new state, reproducing the behaviour of a medical monitor display.
The tool is designed to remain flexible after creation: waveform positioning, scale, displayed values, global transformation and sweep behaviour can all be adjusted directly from the gizmo interface.
Features:
4 medical waveform channels: ECG, SpO₂, Blood Pressure and EtCO₂
7 different monitor/waveform states
Animated transition between states
Adjustable sweep-gap width
Independent positioning and scale for each waveform
Adjustable numerical monitor values
Systolic / diastolic blood-pressure controls
Global position, scale and skew controls
Global number scaling
Integrated output Reformat controls
Packaged resources with portable paths for use across different workstations
JB_MONITOR was developed primarily for compositors who need a fast starting point for medical monitor screen replacements without having to build and animate every waveform from scratch.
Created by Juan Bautista Ruano — 2026.
Installation
Copy the complete JB_MONITOR folder into a directory already included in your Nuke plugin path and restart Nuke.
Keep the original folder structure intact, as the gizmo uses the included resources directory for its waveform images.
If your chosen folder is not already registered as a Nuke plugin path, add it using nuke.pluginAddPath().
