Chromatic Aberration Tool Set (by: Chas Naylor; twitter: chas_n):
Instructions: simply copy & paste the code in the text doc into a Nuke node graph, and all
of the nodes should come in as intended. There are no plugins used for this, so it
should work fine.
After that, do whatever you'd like with it, but my suggestion is that you save it
as a tool set (given that you are in 6.3v1 or higher) so that way you can call it
up whenever you'd like.
The input & output for the set should be clear, just make sure you are connecting
the bottom-most 'merge' (not the dot!). Input pipe is fairly clear, and is
connected to the upper-right dot.
The key setting are in the lens distortion nodes, & the 'radial distorion 1'
values should be set to taste. Admittedly the aberration comes in quite strong by
default, but this is done on purpose just to show that the effect is working. You
can also rearrange the nodes so that the aberration comes from the green+red, or
whatever you'd like, which is why I have done this as a toolset as opposed to a
gizmo.
Customize away, and feel free to share. If you do share, it might be nice to know
about it. My twitter name is: @chas_n. It's not the most fantastic setup in the
world, but it does the job, and works in a relatively physically accurate way. And if you have feedback I'd love to hear it.
Thanks and comp away!!!!!
